Convenience store bandit arraigned

CHEROKEE COUNTY —

Suspected convenience store bandit Kendall Deshun Lucas was arraigned by Jacksonville Municipal Judge B.K. Menefee late Friday morning.

Lucas’ bonds were set at $200,000 each on three Aggravated Robbery charges, $150,000 each on three Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and $1,500 on a charge of Hindering a Secured Creditor.

The Hindering a Secured Creditor charge is unrelated to the investigation into the string of armed robberies, the Jacksonville Police Department reported.

Lucas dodged authorities, tracking dogs, and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter for a day earlier this week before disappearing into the woods following a Loop 456 and Highway 79 area foot chase.

Jacksonville Police captured Lucas at an apartment early Thursday.
