JACKSONVILLE — Billy D Glenna Wilson Working at ACCESS here in Jacksonville, Texas. I was okay until I received a phone call from my daughter who was in the Air Force at that time. The trembeling in her voice just set me on edge. Later that night I had opportunity to speek with my husband who helped me feel better. This event will not be forgotten...still to this day our world is changing as result of 9/11 events. I so miss my America.
Lynda Kelly I was at work at Curves for Women in Jacksonville. Was such a shock. Phones wouldnt stop ringing.
Melina Mathis Baker I was also working at ACCESS. Three of us were leaving the office to go to Lufkin for a meeting and the second strike happened just as we were walking out the door. We headed on, and then we heard that the Pentagon had been hit, so we seriously wondered whether we were at war and whether we needed to turn back. Needless to say, our discussion the whole way to Lufkin was what was going on. When we got there, we found that one woman had flown in from out of state for the meeting, and another woman was there who had a daughter in one of the towers. Both of them were terribly shaken. The meeting was not productive at all, as you can imagine. The woman who flew had a very difficult time getting home, and the other woman eventually hard from her daughter, much to everyone's relief.
Matt Whitlock 6th grade..lol
Sarah Allen I was in the 7th grade..going to JCS. They ket us older kids watch the news in the auditorium. We.watched the second plane hit the tower....as a kid you always heard of terrible things that had happened...but seeing it live...it's a whole other thing. It changes how you look at the world. I for one will never forget!!!
Doris Alford I was getting ready to take my daughter to her denist apointment. When I got there I watched it happen on the TV that was in the doctor's office.
Klara Ball I was in Houston at my apartment watching the Today show when the 2nd plane hit. my husband and I were set to go to work in Afghanistan the next month. I was so shocked and appalled!
Sarah Jobe Tanner Spunaugle I was in my classroom at GW Carver elementary in Marshall. My teaching partner came and got me and I saw the second attack.
Terunda L Montgomery I was at work, when my boss came in saying we are under attack, we took all the children and went to the TV room where we saw the second plane hit. I started crying. My day was not the same. Each year I see that image of the plane hitting the second tower. 9/11 is a day I will never forget, but will always remember the lives that were taken that day.
