Talent Show
• Begins at the Cherokee County Expo Center, 611 N.E. Loop 456 during the rally
• The entrance fee of $15, and cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. The front-runner will also be given the opportunity to open for the concerts on Saturday
• Hosted by Boogie Butt Productions
Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament
• Begins Friday at 1 p.m. at the expo center and will conclude Saturday. There will be three rounds of playing.
• The total buy-in to play is $120, with $100 going toward the pot of winnings and $20 to go toward the Crisis Center.

Ride against child abuse/parade
• Noon - Registration begins for participation in the parade at the Cherokee County Expo Center, 611 N.E. Loop 456. Entrance fee is $20 per person for all motorcycle weekend events.
• 6 p.m. - Lineup at Chilis, 1225 South Jackson St.
• 6:30 p.m. - The parade begins. The motorcycles will ride from Chilis to the expo center
Biker Ball
• 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the expo center.
• $10 entrance unless they are participating in the biker rally.
• Musical entertainment by the band Dazed
Saturday (to watch events, attend bike show and listen to music, and entrance fee of $10 will be charged.)
• 9 a.m. - registration begins for the 'poker run'
• 10 a.m – 3 p.m. - Poker run
• 2 p.m. to 3:30 – Bike show at the expo center
• 4 p.m. - awards and announcements
• 4:30 p.m. - Biker games begin
Bands will play at the expo center all day Saturday
• 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Withrow Cooley and Friends
• 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. - Risky on the Rocks
• 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. - None the Wiser
• 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. - Without a Doubt.

Blaze of Glory: JPD officer risks own life to save residents
It took Jacksonville firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze in this home on the corner of Waters and Rusk streets in Jacksonville Saturday evening. The accidental fire started in electrical wiring in the front room of the house, according to Jacksonville Fire Chief Paul White.
Quick action and a heroic undertaking by a Jacksonville Police officer saved two people's lives Saturday evening when a vicious fire engulfed their home.
