New Summerfield High School valedictorian Julie Suarez addresses her classmates during graduation ceremonies Friday night. The Class of 2009 included 38 students. A Tyler Junior College representative presented nine Top 10 Percent Scholarships totaling $36,000. Each student was awarded $4,000 each. NSISD superintendent Greg Weiss congratulated the class of 2009, and said, “After today, it will be up to you to decide what you do with your life.”
