Troup suffers OT loss to Palestine Westwood

RUSK — Palestine Westwood outscored the Tigers 11-8 in overtime to come out with a 56-53 win in a Class 2A, Region III, Area match-up.

Westwood (22-10) will face either White Oak or Newton in a regional quarterfinal game early next week while the Tigers (22-11) see their season come to a close.

Richard Lacy led the Tigers in scoring with 13 points, followed by An'Fernee Ross with 11.

Blake Lynch added 10 points and had a team-high 14 rrebounds for the Tigers.

Westwood led by nine with jusst over five minutes to go in regulation, but Troup was able to generate a 8-0 run that helped the Tigers tie the game at 45 after 32 minutes of action.

Westwood hit 16-31 (51.6%) from the charity line, compared to Troup's 2-6 (33.3%).
