PLANO — The Jacksonville College women's tennis team fell to Collin College 6-3 on Thursday in Plano.
Maria Coronel, a sophomore from Peru, won two of JC's points, with Troup's Caitlin Renson winning her singles match for the other point.
Coronel and playing partner Britney Sibley defeated Collin's Sharron & Lauren Clark, 8-6.
Coronel battled the Cougars' Simon Krop in No. 1 womens singles.
The marathon match lasted for well over two hours, with Coronel winning 7-6, 7-5.
Renson prevailed over Mia Maric 3-6, 6-1, (12-10).
The JC men were shut out by the Cougar guys, 9-0.
JC head coach Mark Robbins said that he was pleased with both teams' effort and that the JC squads are continuing to improve.
Both JC sqads are now 1-2 this spring.
