Alto wins big over Wolves; Tenaha awaits

ALTO —  The No. 9-ranked team in this week’s state Class A football poll, Alto, had no trouble in upending San Augustine Friday night at Yellowjacket Stadium.

The Mean Sting now move to 2-0 as a result of the 55-6 shelling of the Wolves, who drop to 1-1 on the year.

The stage is now set for what could turn out to be an epic non-district encounter this Friday when the ‘Jackets welcome Tenaha, ranked No. 4 in the current state Class A poll, to town.

Tenaha (2-0) defeated Timpson 21-0 on Friday and is the team responsible for eliminating Alto from the state playoffs a year ago.
