JACKSONVILLE — A long journey mileage wise turned out to be even longer as Jacksonville lost its sub varsity games against Texas High on Thursday night in Texarkana.

In the night cap the Indian junior varsity team fell to 0-2 on the year after falling 47-0 to the Tigers.

The picture wasn’t any prettier in the 9th grade game either as the Texas High freshmen toppled the Tribe frosh 64-0.

JHS freshman head coach Justin Powell stated that despite the defeat, Cadarius Davis, Stacy Cummings, Skyler Schrier and Malik Mayo gave good accounts on offense while Jessie Mendoza, Chris Cross and Stephen Ross (leading tackler) were singled out as defensive players having played well.

The Tribe will host Gilmer on Thursday in the home opener. The freshmen game starts things off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity.
