JACKSONVILLE —
Datavion Thacker had a night to remember on Thursday at Henderson's Lion Stadium.
The Jacksonville freshman scored two touchdowns and picked off a Henderson pass to lead the Tribe to a 34-0 shutout over the 9th-grade Lions.
With the win, Jacksonville improves to 3-1 on the year and will visit Marshall next week.
The Tribe scored all their points in the first half on a night that saw just as many defensive gems as offensive ones.
Mykel Matney, Jeremy Mumphrey and Micah Edwards each had an interception for the Tribe.
Thacker scored on Jacksonville's first offensive play, following an interception by Matney.
Following Jacolby Robinson's two-point conversion run, the Indians led 8-0 and never looked backed.
The Tribe increased their margin to 14-0 after Thacker returned a punt 70 yards for six points.
Jacksonville's next score came on a 57-yard touchdown strike from Robinson to Christian Edwards.
Robison then tossed a dart to Mich Edwards for the two point conversion, which gave the Tribe a 22-0 advantage after one quarter.
Robinson had a dominating night quarterbacking the Indians as he capped off his first-half antics by dialing up Sterling Robinson for an 8-yard touchdown pass that ballooned the visitors' margin to 28-0.
The Tribe's final score came on a 49-yard touchdown scamper by Robinson.
