BULLARD —
Dynamic duos.
Batman had Robin, Andy Taylor was teamed with Barney Fife in “The Andy Griffin Show” and when it comes to Bullard High School football, the Colton Mebane-to-Haden Bryant connection has been one to take note of this season.
Bullard, 5-1 overall, evened its District 16-4A record at 1-1 last week by logging a 26-6 win over Gladewater's Bears
In that tilt, quarterback Mebane went 22-of-34 for 309 yards and three touchdowns (no interceptions).
Bryant led head coach Shannon Wilson's club in catches, hauling in 12 balls for 244 yards and three touchdowns.
For the year, Mebane is 55-of-98 for 977 yards.
He has tossed 10 touchdown passes while giving up just two interceptions
Mebane is averaging right at 163 yards of passing per night and has a 56.1-percent completion rate.
Bryant's numbers are equally as gaudy.
He has 29 receptions for 655 yards (22.6 yards per catch) and has shagged eight touchdown catches.
The Panthers continue to remain in the 16-3A playoff chase and a big reason for that is the play of Bullard's very own Dynamic Duo.
