BULLARD —
Bullard chalked up a rare District 16-3A road win by dismantling Gladewater 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-19) on the Lady Bears' home floor Friday evening.
Lexi Abercrombie spurred Bullard on with six kills while Meredith Daly had five blocks and four spikes.
Emily Tekell led the Lady Panther defense with nine digs.
Bri Ridgley (9 assists) and Mallory McCoy (8 assists, 3 service aces) also played well for Bullard, who is now 3-6 in league outings.
In addition, McCoy went 17-of-17 from the service stripe.
Hana Woyt had two spikes on three attempts for the Lady Panthers, who visit Gilmer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Jacksonville girls fall to Nac
NACOGDOCHES — Jennifer Hunter had six kills and Shelby Lanie added four, but it wasn't enough to stop Nacogdoches as the Lady Dragons took a 3-1 (25-18, 25-11, 24-26, 25-23) decision over visiting Jacksonville. Defensively, Mikaela Ross had a team-high 13 digs, followed by Kelly Crosby with 12 and Hunter with 10. The District 16-4A match was played on Friday. The Maidens (10-24, 0-7) travel to Lindale tonight.
Fairfield wins 19-3A match over Rusk
RUSK — Rusk's playoff hopes suffered a major blow on Friday when the Lady Eagles fell to visiting Fairfield at Eagle Coliseum. Rusk is now 2-4 in conference play with just two matches left on the schedule. The Rusk junior varsity and freshman teams got the upper hand on Fairfield, however. Rusk hosts Mexia at 6:30 p.m. this evening.
