TEG says goodbye to college-bound members

JACKSONVILLE — Several members of Texas East Gymnastics (TEG) of Tyler pose for a photo recently before some members continue their gymnastic careers at various universities around the country. Pictured are, from left, Emily Rickman, Alaina Johnson, Erin Odom, Morgan Key, Sidney Dukes and Emily McLemore. Johnson will soon be off to the University of Florida, fresh off winning Regional Elite Gymnast of the Year. Johnson will be working with new coaches for the first time in her life at Florida, according to her TEG coach, Martin Parsley. Key was honored earlier this month as a qualifier to the NIT competition. She will soon travel to the University of Alaska-Anchorage where she is looking forward to being a member of the school’s gymnastics squad. Odom and Rickman also have qualified for the NIT while McLemore and Dukes have been recognized for earning spots in the Western Championships.
