BULLARD —
The Bullard Panther diamond nine checked in at No. 16 in this week's txhighschoolbaseball.com Class 3-A poll, which was released Monday.
The Panthers, who are coached by Judd Guidry, took a 10-2 overall record into last night's District 16-3A opener with Kilgore (results not available as of press time).
Bullard went 3-2 in the Van Tournament over the weekend.
The Panthers opened by by being tripped up by Van, 3-2.
The Panthers then reeled off a string of wins — over Mabank (15-0), Winona (11-1) — before falling, 12-8, to Mineola on Saturday.
Sweeney (11-1) was the top ranked team in Class 3A this week, with Boerne (12-3) occupying the No. 2 position.
Waco Robinson (11-1-1) is slotted third.

The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
