Jacksonville College's Carter released from hospital Friday evening

TYLER — Carter hit the floor hard after colliding with a player from Blinn College while coming down with a rebound.

The mishap occurred with 10:30 to go in the game and stopped play for around 15 minutes.

"Khadijah has been released from the hospital and she is doing fine," JC Athletic Director Lynn Nabi said late Friday night. "She has some tendersness in her neck and her body is sore, but from all indications she will be fine. Whenever a player is knocked out it is scary, but all of the right measures were taken and she was properly transported to the emergency room right away and she has been examined and released and we are all grateful for that."

Carter ended the regular season as one of the premier players in Region XIV where she averaged 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
