It's official: Maidens finish in third-place

JHS girls to face No. 5 Waco Midway on Tuesday

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Maidens are now, officially, the third-place representative out of District 35-4A, following a meeting Wednesday morning of the league's coaches, held in Nacogdoches. Jacksonville and Palestine tied for second in the loop standings and there was some question on the implementation of the district's tie-breakers prior to Wednesday's gathering. The Maidens will open the state class 4A playoffs at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday against Waco Midway, the No.5 team in the state. The match will take place at Ennis High School.
