Rebels upset Jaguars, 101-96, in Region XIV Championship Tournament

TYLER — JC (22-9), the tourney's No. 4 seed, closed the gap to four points, 98-94, after a Mitchell Farr triple with 22 seconds left in the game, but that would be as close as the Jags would get.

Lee (23-10), the No. 5 seed moves on to take on top-seeded Kilgore College at 6 p.m. Friday night in a semi-final test.

Trahson Burrell had a game high 29 points to ignite the Rebels, with Jamal Jones adding 25.

Daniel Skinner and Kennedy Eubanks led the Jags in scoring with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

Nimrod Hillard IV added 15 on 3-4 shooting from beyond the arc and both Farr and Tyrell Springer pumped in 11 for the Purple and White.

The Rebels led 47-36 at the break, with the Jags outscoring Lee 60-54 in the finall 20 minutes of play.
