RUSK — Pleasanton is No. 2, followed by Lufkin Hudson, Burkburnett and Iowa Park.
"This is a great honor for our team," Rusk head coach Ashley Renner said. "I'm proud to say I'm the coach of the No. 1-ranked team in the state."
Rusk will take part in the Hallsville Tournament, beginning on Thursday.
The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
