Lifters from Jacksonville and Rusk participated in the Iron Eagle Meet in Fairfield on Thursday, which was the final outing before the regional meet for both teams.
Jacksonville
The Tribe earned only one point and finished last out of 16 teams.
Fairfield (30), Athens (25) and Madisonville (24) were the meet’s winners in the team standings.
The JESHER girls tallied 20 points and came in fourth behind Fairfield (48), Rusk (34) and Palestine Westwood (31).
JESHER received second-place efforts from McKenzie Morton (97 lb.), Malaya Mack (165 lb.) and Marie Chiarra (198 lb.)
Rusk
Eagle iron masters amassed 15 points to take fifth place.
In the 198 lb. division Rusk’s Kevin Jones took the gold with a total of 1,290 lbs.
Leo Rosales (114 lb.) and Dylan Thompson (165 lb.) ended the day second in thier respective segments.
The Lady Eagles garnered two gold-medal finishes and four seconds to earn 34 points and a fourth-place team finish.
Jade Buckley (97 lb.), 465 lbs. and Kylie Delaney 8181 lb.) 795 lbs. took first for the Lady Eagles.
Second place efforts were notched by Alexis Long (105 Lb.), Kadeja Jefferson (123 lb.), Gabby Willis (148 lb.)and Hailey Stanford (220 lb.)

Bullard
On Saturday Bullard came in fifth place in the boy’s division of the East Texas Powerlifting Championships in White Oak.
Twenty-nine schools were represented at the meet.
Texarkana Liberty Eylau tallied 53 points to come in first, followed by Emory Rains (19) and Texarkana Pleasant Grove (19).
Zach Holladay lifted a total of 1,330 lbs. to win first in the 181 lb. division.
Aaron Johnson of Bullard finished third behind Holladay as well.

JHS Spring Football Scrimmage: Game ends in a 107-107 deadlock
After two live quarters and a pair of 10-minute running-clock periods the first Jacksonville Blue vs. White spring football scrimmage since 2004 ended in a 107-107 tie Friday night at Tomato Bowl.

Fight'n Indians set to scrimmage tonight
Jacksonville High School will be wrapping up spring football practice by staging a Blue vs. White scrimmage at 6 p.m. this evening at Tomato Bowl.

Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo: Meier earns 87-point rid on 'Rainbow'
The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
