LINDALE — Pittsburg, ranked No. 15 in Class 3A, held Bullard to single digits in the first and third periods and went on to post a 42-32 decision over the Lady Panthers on Friday.
Offensively, Pitt's Cheyenne Ramey went perfect from the field (6-of-6 shooting) to top out with a team-high 14 points for the winners, who will advance to play Longview Spring Hill early next week in a regional quarterfinal match-up.
Bullard was within striking distance at halftime as Pitt led 19-14.
The Lady Pirates then went on to outscore the Bullard girls 16-7 in the third to move ahead by 14 with eight minutes left ot play.
Bridgette Taylor wound up with a game-best 15 points for Bullard and Lexi Abercrombie tossed in 10.
Bullard ends the year at 24-10, while the Lady Pirates improve to 30-10.
