16-4A Softball: Corsicana romps over Jacksonville

Mallard blasts a 2-run homer for Maidens

JACKSONVILLE — The matinee event took place Tuesday at Fight'n Maiden Field.

The Lady Bulldogs touched up two Jacksonville pitchers for a total of 10 hits and six base on balls, while also taking advantage of seven Maiden errors.

The bright spots for Jacksonville (8-9, 0-1 16-4A) came when Jordane Mallard ripped a two-run homer off the scoreboard in left field in the bottom of the fifth inning, which accounted for both of Jacksonville's runs, and when Mackenzie Crow struck out the side in the top of the fourth.

The Maidens' remaining hit was a Kaitlyn Hutson single to left, that also took place in the last frame.
