18-2A Softball: Lady Tigers' 16 hits bury Frankston; Troup posts 20th win of season

FRANKSTON — Troup unleashed a 16-hit attack and went on to smack Frankston 7-0 Tuesday night in District 18-2A action.

Caitlin Tomlin went 3-for-3 with a triple and Bethany Mason posted a 2-for-4 night and pounded  out a pair of doubles.

Madison Martin was also a key contributor (2-for-4, triple) as was Lee Ann Lloyd, who went 2-for-4 with a two-base hit.

Ronnie Boyer, Katelyn Standley and Josee Ross each hit safely twice in four trips to the plate for Troup.

Lloyd and Tomlin drove in two runs each for the winners.

Ross collected the win in the circle for the Lady Tigers.

She went the distance and gave up just three hits while whiffing 12 Maidens.

Troup improved to 6-0 in conference with the win and are 20-4-2 overall.

The Lady Tigers are ranked No. 7 in this week's TGCA Class 2A poll.

Troup will close the book on the first half of loop play at 5:30 p.m. this evening by welcoming in Winona.
