Jacksonville Fight'n Indian golf squad recorded oits second-best finish as a team for the season last week when coach Cecil Newton's charges captured a third-place finish in the 16-team Hudson Invitational, which was held at Diboll's Neches Pines Golf Course.
The Indians came in at 353, which was 8-strokes behind the tourney's champions, Hudson “A”.
Golfers from Central Heights took second (351).
Trent Sansom of Jacksonville wound up at 82 to lead the Tribe. Sansom came in third in the medalist standings.
Finishing with an 83 was Cameron Brown, with Cade Cessna and Anthony Mobley ending their respective days at 94.
Josh Ambroson (102) and Cash Cleaver (113) completed the order of finish for the Tribe linksters.
Up next for the Indians will be the District 16-4A Championships, which are slated to get under way at 8 a.m. on Monday at Pine Dunes.
The tourney will wrap up the following day.

The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
