BRYAN, Texas — Rusk lifted the curtain on the 2013 softball season on Thursday by posting back-to-back wins in the Bryan-College Station Tournament, which runs through Saturday.
Rusk outscored Magnolia, 7-3, before shutting out San Antonio Holmes, 5-0, later in the day.
Head coach Ashley Renner's charges are now 2-0 on the year.
Jacksonville High School will be wrapping up spring football practice by staging a Blue vs. White scrimmage at 6 p.m. this evening at Tomato Bowl.
The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
