CENTER — Bullard found the going rough in Roughrider country (Center) late last week as the Lady Panthers lost three games in the Center Tournament.
Bullard (1-9) lost to Alto, ranked No. 5 in the current Class A TGCA poll, 5-3 on Thursday. Brianna Kirkland and Chelsea Foreman each and a hit and a run scored in the game for Bullard while Ashley Gwartney added a hit and an RBI.
Center held the lady panther to just a lone safety off the bat of Ashley Shidler as the Lady ‘Riders won in a 10-0 rout over the lady panthers.
In Bullard’s final game of the tourney, Mount Enterprise (Class A) tagged Bullard with a 4-0 defeat as Forman had the Lady Panthers’ only hit of the game.
Bullard plays its final non-district game at 6 p.m. tonight when the Lady Panthers take on Henderson at Jamie Hand Field in Henderson. The Lady Lions are coming off a third-place finish in the A & M Consolidated Tournament last weekend and have been ranked as high as No. 15 in the Class 4A polls this season.
Ready or not, the District 17-3A portion of the schedule begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday when Bullard pays a visit to Chapel Hill.
