Jacksonville 41, Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill 20 — The Fight'n Maldens of Jacksonville opened their run in one of East Texas' most prestigious tournaments by scoring a 21-point win over MP Chapel Hill. Jasmine Parson led Jacksonville in scoring with 14 points, while Damonica Franklin had nine. Jacksonville (4-5) ended a four-game winning streak with the victory. The Maidens held MP Chapel Hill to single digit scoring in every period except for the first.
Snook 47, Jacksonville 46 (OT) — Snook's Lady Blue Jays outscored the Maidens 9-8 in the bonus period to escape with the victory in winner's bracket play. Jacksonville led 21-16 at halftime, only to allow Snook to move in front 32-28 heading into the fourth quarter. Inchantra Kendricks topped out with 14 points to spark the Maidens, with Parson adding 11 and Chancii Scott scoring eight. S.Barnes tallied a game-high 26 for the Lady Blue Jays.
Neches 50, Bullard 49 — Bullard led for most of the game, but Neches rallied late to come away with the win. Bridgette Taylor poured in 13 points to guide the Lady Panthers, while Madison Slayter swished in 11. Slayter connected on three shots from beyond the arc. The Bullard girls went on to beat Huntington 42-30 in the second round to improve to 9-8 on the season. No other details regarding that game was available.
Bullard 61, Grace Community 60 — The Bullard Panthers withstood a frantic Cougar rally to hold on to win by one. The Panthers led 37-20 at the break and threatened to run away things at that point. Corbin Howard's 15 points was a team high for Bullard. Both teams were hot from downtown. Grace dropped in six triples, while Bullard connect on four shots from beyond the arc.
Troup 61, Sanger 56 — Coach Jody Sorey's Tigers used a 20-9 fourth period to rally and beat Sanger. Hunter Clark and Bradley Stewart sparked Troup by scoring 19 and 16 points, respectively. Each young man drained three shots from three-point land.
