JACKSONVILLE — Progress staff reports

Jacksonville High School placed four representatives on the Collin Street Bakery/ Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 4A All-state football squad which was announced Friday.

Seniors Duke Hamilton and Justin Jones earned third team mention while Ryan Black and Ja’Colby Scott, both juniors, garnered honorable mention status.

Hamilton, a safety, had five interceptions for the Indians this past season while Jones, a linebacker, has led his team in tackles each of the past three seasons.

Jones signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his football career at Tyler Junior College last week.

Black, the Tribe’s standout-lefty quarterback, is currently receiving his share of recruiting attention from a host of colleges.

Scott is a defensive end who will be a key returnee for the Tribe in 2010.
