BULLARD —
The Brook Hill Guard avenged their only district loss in resounding fashion with a 72-47 win over Dallas-First Baptist Academy in boy’s TAPPS District 4 action on Tuesday night at the Herrington Sports Complex.
The Lady Guard made it a sweep on the night winning the earlier girl’s matchup in a lop-sided score, 52-16.
Both teams will continue district play on Friday night as they travel to Richardson to play Canyon Creek. The girls will tip off at 6 p.m. and the boy’s varsity to follow at 7:3- p.m.
Boys
Brook Hill 72, Dallas-First Baptist Academy 47
Brook Hill’s Chase McDermott was a man on a mission last night scoring 40-points in the dominating win for the Guard.
McDermott had 19-points at the half as Brook Hill took a 36-16 lead in to the break.
McDermott shot 11-of-15 free throws to add to his total, going 6-of-7 in the final quarter before head coach Wally Dawkins brought on the second team to mop up the win.
Brook Hill point guard, Grant Hanks scored 12 of his 16-points in the opening half, nailing three treys in the contest to get the Guard off to a 23-10 score after one period.
First Baptist was led by Josh Johnson with 14 points in a losing effort, and teammate Garrett Black was in double-digits with 10-points.
