Lady Bearcats to hold Play 4Kay events promoting breast cancer awareness

JACKSONVILLE — The Lon Morris College women's basketball team and coaching staff will be conducting several events on Feb. 10-11, that will be raising funds in support of breast cancer awareness.

At 2 p.m. on Feb. 10, a 4Kay Walk/Run will take place on the LMC campus, beginning at 2 p.m.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. in front of the Smith Events center.

Participants are asked to donate $20, which will go directly to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

On Feb. 11, the Lady 'Cats will be hosting Blinn College at 2 p.m.

That Region XIV contest will be LMC's Pink Play 4Kay game.

All fans, family and alumni of LMC are asked to wear pink clothing to the game or a pink ribbon, which will be available at the gate.

In addition, the Lady 'Cat basketball team will be selling raffle tickets for an autographed pink team basketball.

Tickets sell for $2 each, or three for $5.

The winner will be announced at halftime of the men's game on Feb. 11.
