TYLER —
The Rose City Triathlon, hosted by the East Texas Triathletes, has been set for September 15, 2012 at Lake Tyler West. Registration is open with a bonus of $250 paid to the top male and female to break the current course records. Cash prizes will also be offered to the Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters winners. This event consists of a 650 meter swim, 14.1 mile bike ride and a flat, closed 3 mile run. The Rose City Triathlon is the perfect sprint triathlon for those who are new to the sport as well as competitive athletes. We welcome two or three person relay teams as well.
A FREE training clinic will be held August 18, at 8:30 a.m. at Lake Tyler West. This clinic is sanctioned by USATriathlon so you must be member which provides for liability insurance. You may purchase a 1-day or annual membership. If you purchase a 1-day for the clinic, you will also need to purchase a 1-day membership for the Triathlon. Adult and youth 1-day memberships are available, for $12 and $10 respectively. Annual memberships are $45 for adult and $15 for youth. The annual membership will cover the clinic and triathlon in addition to any other USAT events you register for this year.
The clinic will be conducted by John Cobb, an internationally known bike-fitting expert, who has been involved in the cycle and Triathlon industry for over 30 years. To find complete information and to register, visit www.rosecitytri.com.
Registration for the clinic is free.
Participation in the Triathlon is $70 for an individual and $140 for a relay team.
The Rose City Tri will benefit Hospice of East Texas, the Whitehouse VFD and the UT-Tyler Multisports.
