WHITE OAK —
The White Oak ‘Runnin’ Roughnecks’ proved to be worthy of their top-ranking in Class 2A boys basketball by man-handling Bullard-Brook Hill, 83-51, on Tuesday night at E.B. Carrington Gymnasium on the White Oak High School campus.
White Oak turned up the pressure from the get-go, scoring at will for a 20-8 lead after one quarter.
Roughneck guards, Slade and Skylar Sutton along with point guard Kris Anderson bombed away with six, three-pointers in the opening half of play as White Oak cruised to a 42-14, halftime cushion.
Another fast-and-furious third quarter frustrated the Guard Roughnecks but maintained the lead before blowing up again in the final quarter for the 32--point win.
Roughneck, do-it-all, Levi Yancy led the attack with a triple-double, scoring 16-points, grabbing 23 rebounds, three blocks, and three assists. The 6’7 multi-faceted player had 14 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in the first half alone.
Th Roughnecks emptied the bench in the final quarter as Brook Hill made up some ground before the 83-51 final.
Grant Hanks led the Guard with 16-points and two treys, while teammates Alex Hale and Andrew Swink added 14 and 10 points respectively for all Guard players in double-digits.
The Roughnecks got a game-high, 18-points on four, three-pointers from Skylar Sutton,and Anderson finished the night with 17 points.
Hayden Nichols added in 12 points, and Slade Sutton 11 in the winning effort.

After two live quarters and a pair of 10-minute running-clock periods the first Jacksonville Blue vs. White spring football scrimmage since 2004 ended in a 107-107 tie Friday night at Tomato Bowl.
