JACKSONVILLE — At the Tomato Bowl in Jacksonville, the Nacogdoches Dragons won a high scoring affair by downing the Tribe 6-3.
At the same time, the Fight'n Maidens (3-10-1, 0-1) dropped a 2-0 decision to the Nacogdoches girls, in a match that was played in Nacogdoches.
Both matches were the district openers for both clubs.
On Friday the Indians (5-7, 0-1) will continue league play by visting Diboll for a 7 p.m. match.
The Fight'n Maidens will host Diboll at the same time.
The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
Brook Hill used a three run sixth inning to get past Bryan Brazos Christian, 7-5, in the TAPPS 3A State Championship baseball game that took place in Waco Wednesday afternoon.
