Jacksonville College cruises past Angelina, twice

JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville College swept a Region XIV doubleheader over Angelina College Thursday night at Curtis Carroll Fieldhouse.

In the women's game, Khadijah Carter scored 18 points and shagged 16 rebounds while Jasmine Robinson put in 16 points to go along with 14 boards to help send the Lady Jaguars to a 70-56 victory.

JC (11-10, 4-4 Region XIV) led 31-26 at halftime.

Demetria Foreman, who previously played at Lon Morris College, wound up with 16 points for the Lady 'Runners (14-8, 6-3).

The Lady Jags face Tyler Junior College on Saturday afternoon in Tyler.

The JC men also ambushed Angelina, winning 98-79.

The Jags led 36-25 at the break.

Angelina got to within five, 45-40, with 14:36 left to play, but that was as close as the 'Runners would get.

Kennedy Eubanks and Mitchell Farr had 18 apiece for the winners.

Farr went 4-of-7 from behind the arc, with Eubanks hitting 5-of-7 tries from the field.

The 'Runners' Jaylen Daniel led all players with 19 points.

The win ups JC's record to 16-6, 7-4 while Angelina lost its second conference game in-a-row to slip to 14-9, 7-5.
