JACKSONVILLE —
Only a single point separated the John Tyler Lions and the Jacksonville Fight'n Indians in the District 16-4A Boy's Basketball Media Poll,which was conducted Thursday.
The Lions (6-12) picked up two first-place votes and 17 points to claim first place.
One point behind, garnering one first-place nod was the No. 12-ranked Indians, who will enter district play tonight with a 23-0 record.
Whitehouse (16-5) tallied 12 points to take third, with Corsicana's Bulldogs (18-4) not far behind in fourth.
Corsicana totaled eight points, with Nacogdoches (11-7) checking in at No. 5 with seven points.
Lindale (7-10), who is off to a slow start this year, picked up three points and was predicted to finish in sixth place.
Participating in the poll were: Todd Willis (Corsicana Daily Sun), Brandon Ogden (Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel) and Jay Neal (Jacksonville Daily Progress).
