SUGAR LAND —
Jacksonville's Fight'n Indian basketball team moved up two spots to No. 12 in this week's Texas Association of Basketball Coaches/Texas Prep Basketball magazine Class 4A poll which was released Monday.
Head coach Brent Kelley's crew slaughtered Palestine, 83-47, in Palestine Friday evening for their latest win.
“I thought that we may move up a could of spots after our wins the last two weeks,” Kelley said. “It's nice to be ranked that high, but on the other hand, it just puts a bigger target on our backs.”
Jacksonville (22-0) entertains Hallsville at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Tribe's final non-conference outing.
District 16-4A play opens up at 7:30 p.m. Friday when the Indians battle Lindale at the JHS Gymnasium.
