Rusk and Bullard sent nice sized contingents of student athletes to the Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association's state championship meet, which took place over the weekend in Corpus Christi.
Hailey Stanford's seventh-place finish in the 220-pound division was the Lady Eagles' top effort.
Stanford handled 775 lbs. of iron.
Kylie Delaney came in eighth in the 181-pound segment. She took care of 815 lbs. total.
Other participants for Rusk included Kadeja Jefferson (15th, 123-pound division) and Jade Buckley, who competed in the 97-pound bracket.
After squatting 150 lbs. and bench pressing 90 pounds, Buckley bombed out (failed to complete a lift in three attempts) in the dead lift.
Green earns bronze medal for Bullard
Kelsey Green finished in third place in the 105-pound division, which turned out to be Bullard's best performance of the meet.
Green had a squat of 250 lbs., bench pressed 115 lbs. and pushed up 240 lbs. in dead lift for a total of 605 lbs.
Victoria Vargas of Pearsall won the gold in the weight class by lifting a total of 740 lbs.
In the 132-pound category, the Lady Panthers' Taylor Spiller polished off a total of 750 lbs. to come in fifth.
Destinee Welch ended up 17th in the 114-pound segment where she handled 565 lbs.

The last ride of the night turned out to be the most spectacular ride of the evening Wednesday night when Austin Meier scored an 87 for his ride atop "Rainbow" in the final segment of bull riding on the opening night of the Tops In Texas PRCA Rodeo.
