JACKSONVILLE —

Facing District 16-4A's top team, Corsicana, Jacksonville Tribe tennis ended the fall portion of its schedule by falling 10-2 (18-3) to the Tiger netters on Tuesday at the JHS Tennis Complex.

Corsicana finished as district champion with a 5-0 record — there is no post-season tournament in the league.

Whitehouse (4-1) also will be representing the conference at the upcoming regional tournament as the district runner up.

Meanwhile, the Tribe end the fall with a 1-4 conference worksheet (6-6 overall).

Senior Ellie Day figured in both of Jacksonville’s' points.

In No. 1 girls singles, Day silenced Maggie Phinney (6-3, 6-0).

She also joined forces with freshman Kristie Savage in No. 1 doubles to thump Autumn Grounds & Alen Yates (6-2, 6-2).

Suzi McCuistion rolled past Yates in No. 6 singles by an 8-4 score for Jacksonville's final win of the afternoon.

Maria Landin gave a good account as she forced Cecilla Hernandez of Corsicana to a third set before eventually coming up short.

Hernandez won the match (3-6, 6-0, 6-0).
