No. 2 Rusk loses heartbreaker to No. 16 Huntington

Devilettes score a run in bottom of 7th to win 1-0

HUNTINGTON — Kelsie Batten's walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh inning drove Carli Thomas in from second base for the game's only run as No. 16-ranked Huntington (2-1 in District 18-3A) edged No.2 Rusk, 1-0,in District 18-3A action played in Huntington Wednesday night. Despite giving up three hits and striking out 10 while walking just one, University of Texas-Arlington signee, Callie Collins, was saddled with the loss in the circle. Miranda Westbrook, Cami Curtis, Krista Adams and Alison Bowling all had singles for Rusk(18-2, 2-1). Thomas earned the pitching victory for the Devilettes.
