The I-Cubs, the premier farm team for the Chicago Cubs, have a narrow lead over Nashville for first place in the league’s North Division standings. On Sunday, Hoffpauir went 2-for-4 with two RBI in his team’s 14-2 spanking of Round Rock at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. He drilled a solo home run over the centerfield fence in the third inning and doubled to left in the top half of the sixth frame.

Dallas’ Williams says spat with Dez ‘not a big deal’
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams can’t even get his 4-year-old son to carry his shoulder pads. “Man, I can’t get anybody to carry them,” Williams joked Monday. “I’m mad at him too.” A day after the drama created when first-round pick Dez Bryant refused to carry the veteran’s pads off the field after practice, a long-standing rookie ritual, Williams said is was “not a big deal” and that the teammates were fine with each other. Williams said he still remembers carrying Tai Streets’ pads when he was a rookie with the Detroit lions in 2004, and paying for plenty of meals – something he expects Bryant to eventually do, too, though they haven’t spoken about it yet. Bryant didn’t comment while jogging off the field with cameramen and reporters following him. Though he called the shoulder pad situation a non-issue, coach Wade Phillips said he addressed the team about it because of how quickly the story spread.
Cowboys’ receiver regrets posing in the nude
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett is apologizing for nude pictures of himself that have been posted on-line. In a statement released Monday by the team, Bennett says the pictures were taken four years ago and were recently posted on-line without his knowledge or consent. Bennett, who didn’t say who took or posted the pictures, says he understands “they are totally inappropriate” and regrets “the embarrassment that it has caused the organization.”
