City observes Day of Prayer
“This is an important day in our community and nation,” said Mayor Robert Haberle at Thursday's National Day of Prayer observation in Jacksonville, as he greeted those who had gathered. “We do face some trying times, so what better way than to come together and spend some time in prayer?”

St. John’s United Methodist Church, at 2020 Beaumont St., will be having a Spaghetti Supper and Bake Sale on May 6, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Cherokee District WMA meets
Cherokee District WMA met on April 12 at Sardis Baptist Church. A healthy meal of salads and lots of wonderful desserts, by both Sardis and Craft Baptist Church. Of course the fellowship was the best as always.
