JULY 30

Mixon First Baptist holds VBS

First Baptist Church of Mixon invites all children ages 3 years- 5th grade (completed) to set sail on a “High Seas Expedition” at this year’s Vacation Bible School.  VBS will be held July 26-30 from 6:00-9:00 PM each night.  The church is located in Mixon (approximately 10 miles north of Jacksonville at the corner of SH 135 and FM 177).  For more information about VBS or to request transportation, please call the church office at 903-842-3776.



AUGUST 7-8

Peoples Church hosts water works park

Peoples Church, on U.S. Hwy. 79 in Jacksonville, will host a water works park 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7-8. Registration wi be at 9 a.m. Saturday. Come ride in the wave of God’s love with a full day of waterslides, food and fellowship.

First Baptist, Neches hosts Avi Lipkin

Avi Lipkin, Isreali teacher, will speak at First Baptist Church of Neches at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 8. He is widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on the machinations behind the global threat posed by radical Islam, aimed at Jews and Christians worldwide.



AUGUST 13-15

Randy Demain ministers at the River

Randy Demain will minister at the River of Life Christian Center Aug. 13-15. Services will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 13-14 and at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 15. Demain has been preaching the Gospel for more than 25 years and regularly conducts harvest and healing crusades, training events and speaks at conferences worldwide. AUGUST 14

New Prospect Baptist holds annual church picnic

The Pastor and members  of New Prospect Baptist Church  will hold its Annual Church Picnic on Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. til 6 p.m. There will be many games, sno cone  and popcorn machines, a water slide, bingo and dominoes.  Adults bring your children for a day of fun, food and fellowship.

Break Free Recovery held

Woodland Heights Baptist Church will host Break Free Recovery, a 12 step Christ-centered program for those who are suffering from hurts, habits or hangups. The program will meet at 6 p.m. every Tuesday evening. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and meetings begin at 6 p.m. The church is located at 273 Hwy. 204 in Jacksonville. St. John’s UMC seniors hold fellowship time

The St. John’s United Methodist Church seniors hold a fellowship group at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. Games, dominos, etc., and a light meal are included in the activities. All are welcome to come for the free fun and fellowship at Terrific Tuesday.



Eagle’s Nest youth center hours

The Eagle’s Nest Christian youth center is open for Jacksonville youth from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The center is at the corner of Nacogdoches and Ragsdale streets in Jacksonville. Call operator Larry McGlade, 903-539-1996, for more information or to donate to the center.



Healing Room offered

River of Life Christian Church in Rusk has recently opened a Healing Room in which they offer prayer free of charge to anyone in need of healing. If you would like to come for prayer, the Healing Room is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday though Thursday or by appointment. Call 903-683-3132 for details.



OLOS needs tax assistance program volunteers

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church is looking for volunteers for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The volunteers are needed to help prepare EZ tax forms for low-income residents. The computers and computer-based training are held at the church, 1023 Corinth St. For information, call 903-586-4538.



Ministerial Alliance meets

The Ministerial Alliance provides an opportunity for the leaders of local churches to meet for prayer, fellowship and planning. All pastors are welcomed.
