JACKSONVILLE — For five years, River of Life has offered a two-year theology-based ministry program designed to “not just give you information but give a supernatural impartation of revelation of the Word of God,” according to River of Life’s Web site.

Now not only does River of Life offer their campus-based program in Rusk, but they moved online and offer exciting new classes via the Internet.

“The vision of our school and of the church is based on Robert Corbell’s vision,” said David Haines of the River of Life. “People will go through the program to better prepare them to reach their destiny.”

The School of Ministry is a non-denominational school which offers classes towards a theology certificate once a student has completed the program.

Currently according to Haines, the classes offered online are The Book of Galatians, in which students will learn about Paul’s writings to Galatia and how it is relevant to the church today; Kingdom Living, in which students will be taught principles of how to live a lifestyle of miracles; The Authority of the Believer, which helps students understand the authority given to them as a child of God and how to exercise that authority; Divine Finances, in which students will be taught about raising funds in a supernatural way, the ways in which God sees money and how believers are meant to use it; Tabernacle of Moses, which will teach students about the tabernacle of Moses and how God told Moses how to build it; and Creative Ministry.

Classes soon to come include The Gospel of John, Covenants, Divine Healing, Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Heart of the Father, Inspirational Lives of the 1700’s and 1800’s and World Missions, according to Haines.

“I want people, when they come to our services to encounter the presence of God”, said Director Robert Corbel. “During the School of Worship which will take place one day a week, there are classes to enrich and prepare someone to lead worship.”

Corbel said the classes offered will include a music theory class, a class on how to lead worship, a class on prophetic worship, piano by music, piano by chords, and vocal lessons.

A few more classes to come are Angels, an indepth study of angels; A class on scriptural dream interpretation and a class on the heart of David.

The online classes are offered year round and are at your own pace classes. The School of Worship, registration will be on Aug. 6, along with regular registration for on-campus classes.

“I came to River of Life thinking that I would learn a lot about the Bible, and turns out I did,” said former student Sheneigne Cummings. “But I thought it was going to be more academics than a life change,”

“The teachers poured into us and what I found happening was me changing personally. The Lord was teaching me things that I needed to work on. I was shocked.”

Cummings said now that she has completed her years as a student at River of Life, she enjoys teaching.

“Even a few years ago, I was no bible scholar,” she said. “I didn’t know all about Christianity.”

“Through the school and the works of God in my life he has used me to now teach two classes Survey of Old and New Testament.”

She said she believes the Lord uses her as an instructor to make a difference in her students’ lives.

“God can use words that come out of my mouth to impact individual students in different ways,” Cummings said. “it’s interesting and exciting to see their transformations from when they begin to when they end their studies here at River of Life.”
