Oksana Nelson, once an orphan, now a young woman who lives in Weatherford and attends Weatherford College, received an Operation Christmas Child shoe box in her Russian orphanage 10 years ago.

It was so impacting seeing the faces of the two children in the photo that cared about someone they didn’t even know on the other side of the world. A simple ‘thank-you’ for the love they sent me in that shoe box would never be enough,” Nelson said.

Nelson and her family pack shoe boxes every year to share the impact of a simple gift. She will be speaking with Regional Director Mark Cooper Nov. 9 at Fellowship Bible Church in Jacksonville at 10:30 a.m. Fellowship Bible Church is located at 817 E. Rusk St., Jacksonville.
