Chuck Hopson is a conservative

JACKSONVILLE — I have known Chuck Hopson for close to 30 years. I voted for Chuck because he is a conservative and I knew he would represent East Texas and our conservative values.

He HAS NOT disappointed! The idea that Chuck is not conservative is ridiculous! From coauthoring the Castle Doctrine to sponsoring small business tax exemptions, Chuck has been for limited government involvement in our business and personal lives.

He is a strong supporter for second amendment rights, which is reflected in the NRA's favorable rating of Chuck. Some of the recent letters to the editor are distortions and scare tactics. As a conservative Republican for over three decades, I welcome his switch to the Republican Party.

With his experience and seniority, he will be an impact person that will lead us in Austin. With our state facing significant problems in the future, it would be foolish not to send Chuck back to Austin.

I look forward to his steady and CONSERVATIVE hand at the helm. Re-elect Chuck Hopson!
