JACKSONVILLE —
Our United States flag, “Old Glory”, has become a powerful symbol of Americanism and our nation’s most widely recognized symbols and I for one feel the pride everytime I see it displayed. With this in mind I want to let our local Kiwanis know how much we appreciate their hard work in getting these beautiful flags displayed for our Jacksonville and our country.
Over the last two weeks the Kiwanis has provided for us an awesome display of flags throughout our city. Not only was our United States flag but also our Texas state flag was included and everyone I talked to was so inspired by their beauty and grace.
I can’t let this go without saying to everyone with the Kiwanis, thank you so much for everything you do.

Just Ask Janet: Kudos to the engines behind the hit parade
I went to the Christmas Parade Thursday night, and I am so tickled to tell you that it was wonderful! I say kudos to the Chamber of Commerce and all those who participated in the parade for making this year’s event so much fun.

Don’t outsource tax collections
Received my letter from the appraisal district, very alarming. It seems someone (little/flowers) is discussing to combine the appraisal district and the county tax office.
