JACKSONVILLE —
Funeral services for Laveta C. Garner, age 70, of Rusk, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at the Bullard Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Laveta was born March 7, 1942 in Rusk, to James Ruben and Ora Hancock McMichael. She was a housewife and a Baptist.
She died in Tyler on Jan. 17, 2013, at Hospice of East Texas.
Laveta was preceded in death by two husbands, Albert Dominy and J. A. Garner, her brothers, and two great grandchildren, Destiny Garner and Dakota Garner.
Laveta is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Brenda Dominy of Rusk, Mike and Janie Dominy of Gallatin, Duane and Diane Dominy of Jacksonville and Joe and Lou Ann Dominy of Flint, a daughter and her spouse, Earline Dominy and Jesse Fox of Jacksonville, five brothers, James McMichael of Livingston, Jesse McMichael of Athens, Ray McMichael of Conroe, Hugh McMichael of Ft. Worth and Joe Don McMichael of Ft. Worth, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, James Earl Dominy, Michael Dominy, Jr., Noel D. Dominy, Jarred Wells, Andrew Johnson and Andrew Dorsey. Honorary pallbearers will be all grandsons.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
