MAYDELLE — Funeral services for Ronald Wayne Martin, age 63, of Maydelle will be held Sunday at 2:00 P. M. at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Josh Luellen officiating. Burial will follow at Hendricks Cemetery under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home. Ronald was born February 18, 1949 in Dallas and had lived most of his life in the Jacksonville area. He had served in the U. S. Navy from May of 1969 until his medical discharge in January of 1971. He died on March 20, 2012 in the V.A. Hospital in Shreveport after battling cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. E. Monroe Martin and Margaret Martin. Ronald is survived by his wife, Carol Dowling Martin of Maydelle, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kelly and Wendy Collins of Wells and Jeff Martin of Woden, two daughters, Kimberly Martin of Alto and Leigh Martin of Oakland, one sister, Peggy Nirider of Houston, and ten grandchildren, Britini Wiley of Oklahoma, Chance Collins of Wells, Kayley Collins of Wells, Abbie Collins of Wells, Kelcie and Tate Martin of Woden, Chesnee Upshaw of Alto, Rayla Upshaw of Alto, Jimmy Upshaw of Alto and Ashleigh Barfield of Oakland. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
