Orville Curtis Starling

NECHES — Funeral services for Mr. Orville Curtis Starling of Neches will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, at the First Baptist Church in Neches with Rev. David Dixon officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Neches Cemetery  under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.  

Curtis was born April 9, 1939 in Neches, TX  to Marlon and Jewel Starling and had lived there most of his life.  

He was a farmer, a member of the First Baptist Church of Neches, a former member of the Neches I.S.D. School Board, and  had served in the U.S. Army.  

He died on July 4, 2012 at the age of 73.  

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marlene and Dorothy Starling and a brother, Donald Starling.  

He is survived by his wife, Kay Starling, three sons, Clay Starling of Neches, Cecil Starling of Ft. Worth and Steve Starling of Spring, two brothers, Marlin Starling of Woodland Hills, CA, and Edward Starling of Neches, TX and seven grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Ricky Young, Frank Petri, James Yancey, James Henry, Gene Williams, Roger Carroll, Mark  McMahon, and Buck Davis.
