JACKSONVILLE —
Graveside services for Mae Alice Simek, age 76, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sat., March 2, at Moore Funeral Home and Gardens, Arlington, with Rev. Joel McMahon officiating.
Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Simek passed away Mon., Feb. 25, in Jacksonville.
She was born March 5, 1936 in Temple.
Mrs. Simek was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville and graduated from Troy High School in 1954. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Lone Star Gas Company to help her husband pay for college. She was a model at the Dallas Market and a devoted Sunday school teacher. Mae will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving wife, mom, meme, and the real Mrs. June Cleaver.
She is preceded in death by her parents Minnie and Lewis Mayes, sisters Lillian Burns and Opal Dixon, and sons Roger and Glenn Simek.
Survivors include her husband Alvin Simek of Jacksonville; granddaughter Michelle Simek of Rusk; daughter-in-law Suzanne Simek of Watauga; brother Bobby Mayes and wife Betsy of Grapevine; relatives Ann Harper of Midland, Albert and Donna Simek of Pflugerville, Corraine and Edward Dykowski of Granger, Marjorie and O.L. Harper of Temple, Donnell Dixson of Temple, and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks that instead of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1031 S.E. Loop 456 Jacksonville, TX 75766.
