HEMPHILL —
Jerry Rex Fling, 74, of Hemphill, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012 at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Houston after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 24, 1937 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Fling was preceded in death by his parents C.O. (Buck) & Dessie Fling.
He is survived by his son David Fling of Evadale, a grandson Cord Fling of Vidor, sisters and brother-in-law, Martha and James Mahula of Pasadena and Charlene Lankford of Mulvane, KS, brother and sister-in-law, Doak and Pam Fling of Georgetown, 6 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.
As a young man, he served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. He spent his working years employed by the Temple-Inland Company. He enjoyed his retirement years living on Lake Toledo Bend where he loved fishing with his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Autry funeral home in Jacksonville at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 16, 2012, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 A.M.
Burial will at held at Jarratt Cemetery,Jacksonville.
