Funeral services for Robert N. ‘Pete’ White, 87, of Karnack will be held 2 p.m., Sun., Nov. 18, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Waskom. A time of visitation will be held 4 -6 p.m., Sat., Nov. 17, at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. White passed away Nov.14, 2012 at his residence
Robert N. ‘Pete’ White was born May 21, 1925 in Rossier, Kaufman County to Jim and Huttie Oliver White. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. White served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Mr. White married Mildred Louise Washburn on June 20, 1943 in Jacksonville. He worked as an auto mechanic for Ford Motor Company for 18 years, Thiokol for 18 years as an air conditioner technician. Mr. White enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Robert ‘Pete’ White is survived by his wife Louise White of Karnack; sons, Robert L. (Bobby) White of Deberry, Howard Neal White of Karnack; sister, Maxine Gray of Jacksonville; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mittie White of Jacksonville.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents; son, Max Ray White; daughter, Patsy Jane White; brothers James Howard White during WWII, Ray. E. White and Jolly White.
